When fitting or replacing an electrical shower there are certain factors that need to be taken into consideration.

  • Are you in a hard water area?

A titanium lined electric shower will last years longer than a standard electric shower. Hard water can lead to terrible limescale, and this is a common killer of electric showers.

  • What kind of water system you have?

If you are on a combi boiler or gravity system, an electric shower can be a pain... especially if someone in the house turns on a tap.  This can have the effect of scalding or freezing you.  This is because as the water pressure drops it is being drawn elsewhere. Consider buying a thermostatic electric shower. If you have a combi boiler, consider upgrading completely and away from electric showers.

  • What do you use your shower for?

If you are a wash and go style and just jump in the shower for a quick wash, electric showers are great.
